The U.S. Secret Service is seeking retired (CSRS/FERS) individuals to support our integrated mission and immediately impart their knowledge and experience to the current workforce.  If re-employed under a Dual Compensation Hiring Authority with an OPM approved salary off-set waiver granted to the Secret Service, annuitants are able to earn their full salary and their full annuity without penalty.

The selectee will serve as a Vehicle Fleet Specialist in the Office of Technical Development & Mission Support, Technical Security Division or the Office of Training, James J. Rowley Training Center:

Typical duties include:

  • Maintaining statistics to determine transportation services requirements; and administers, coordinates, develops and evaluates all related activities.
  • Preparing procurement requests; and tracking the delivery of new vehicles and offsets with vehicle disposal.
  • Conducting surveys and/or maintains statistics to determine transportation service requirements; and monitoring vehicle inventory and utilization to compile periodic vehicle utilization reports to ensure proper utilization of vehicles.
  • Providing technical advice and assistance to individuals on all matters associated with the management and operation of government owned/leased vehicles.

  • Possess a valid U.S. state motor vehicle operator's license and maintain a valid license while you occupy the position.

Qualifications

Basic Qualification:

You must demonstrate at least one (1) year of the defined Specialized Experience and meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR).

Specialized Experience

GS-11: You qualify for the GS-11 level (starting salary $72,030) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level performing duties such as: providing fleet management advisory services to management; analyzing and reporting data from an asset management system(s); assisting in managing a fleet management program in accordance with Federal Management Regulations; and monitoring status and progress of work schedules OR

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related; OR

Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed post-graduate school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.

GS-12:  You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $86,335) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level performing duties such as: providing fleet management advisory services to management; analyzing and reporting data from an asset management system(s); assisting in managing a fleet management program in accordance with Federal Management Regulations; and monitoring status and progress of work schedules.
