    This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Under Secretary for Management (USM). The Primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of budgeting functions involving the formulation, justification and execution of the budget.

    As a Budget Analyst GS 0560 11/12/13, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:

    • Participates in the planning, organization, and execution of a major, substantive budget for a significant program component.
    • Recommends the modification of budgetary procedures to implement the financing and accomplishment of major national programs.
    • Interprets congressional legislation and OMB policies and precedents, Executive Orders, OMB guidelines and directives, and policies and precedents to ensure that assigned program budget functions are in compliance with policies, directives, and other relevant guidance.
    • Analyze and evaluates continual changes in program plans and funding and their effect on financial and budget program milestones.

    Travel Required

    25% or less - You may be expected to travel for this position.
